About Me
I major in Entrepreneurship and Marketing and minor in Near Eastern Studies at Washington University in St. Louis, and I constantly seek opportunities to engage in these topics abroad. This summer in Israel, I studied Entrepreneurship and Israeli Business, while forming a startup through the MVP (minimum viable product) stage. Through this process, I realized that entrepreneurship requires lots of hard work and commitment, but can lead to forming a successful business that fulfills a need. I am diligent and perseverant—two characteristics that I found integral to entrepreneurial success—and I always complete projects I start. Meeting founders of startups, executives of venture capital firms, and managers of crowdfunding places in Israel, I witnessed a passion in most the people I met involved in the startup industry that I found very valuable. In the past, I also helped create summer camps in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica for underprivileged kids. In the process, I gained the organizational skills it takes to form something new, as well as experience working with language and cultural barriers. Thus, I truly have committed to gaining skills in entrepreneurship on an international level.
I also find value in interdisciplinary studies. I often pinpoint commonalities between historical circumstances and successful business to find the ideal environment for startups. For example, I researched and presented on the historical reasons that Iceland's economy rebounded faster than countries with similar circumstances in the 2008 financial crisis.
